How to make contract
General procedures of making a contract with UR
1. Select a danchi (apartment complex) location
UR danchi around Osaka University (Japanese only):
・Suita Campus
・Toyonaka Campus
・Minoh Campus
↓
Click “Internet Application” tab, check the vacancy and room description, and then make a list of the rooms
which you want to preview.
2. Room preview
Visit and inform MYROOM as to which room you would like to request a preview of

MYROOM will contact UR to check the availability of the room and request from them a “Room Layout” and
“Key Request Form”, if the room is still available
↓
Go to UR danchi within a designated period for the room preview with a “Key Request From” and your
University student (or employee) ID
3. Contract
Inform MYROOM the result of your room preview

MYROOM will set up a “Contract Date” and a “Key Pickup Date”, after discussing with you and UR. Prepare
necessary documents

①If you would like to make a contract with UR, Sign a contract at UR Senri-Cho Eigyo Center.
②If you would like to make a contract with MYROOM, Sign a contract at MYROOM.
4. Pick up the apartment keys
Go to the office at UR danchi to pick up the house keys on the pre-arranged date.
Points to remember before signing the contract
●The contract and other documents are written entirely in Japanese.
●You are responsible for the schedule arrangement of the move out procedures from moving out of the present residence until moving into your new room at UR danchi.
●It is compulsory for international students to apply for Mutual Insurance for Fire and Personal Liability Insurance for Students.
●It is compulsory for international researchers to apply for Comprehensive housing insurance.
●You are not supposed to cancel or change the contract after you make a final decision.
●When renting an apartment in the UR housing complex with Osaka Univ. Co-op’s sublease,
discount plans such as “Under-35” and “UR Light” cannot be used.
Matters to keep in mind to live at UR
There are many other residents at UR danchi. Please have sense of social etiquette as an international
student/scholar of Osaka University and enjoy living comfortably.
●Trash
All trash must be separated according to its category and be placed out at certain time of the day and also be placed in a designated area. A manual regarding trash will be distributed to you when you pick up the key, but please ask Office at UR danchi if you have any questions. It may be no exaggeration to say that keeping this rule is the first step to adjusting to life in Japan.
●No pets allowed
●Water leakage
Recently several water leakages due to negligence have been reported repeatedly.
Please be extra careful when you use the washing machine or fill a bathtub with hot water, since some damages may not be covered by the insurance that you purchase.
●Noise
Please try not to make loud noises from the TV, washing machine, vacuum cleaner or slamming the door, or by talking or laughing, especially at night.
●Greeting
Greet your neighborhood with friendly manner when you pass by them.
